## Heavy duty Ty-Rap in red: Thomas & Betts TY27M-2, 340 x 6.9 mm, pack of 500

For heavy cable runs and hoses, a standard 4.8 mm tie is often not strong enough. The TY27M-2 has a 6.9 mm strap and reaches a tensile strength of 534 N, roughly 54 kg. Since 2007, we have been the go-to wholesaler for [Thomas & Betts cable ties](en/closure-materials/cable-ties/thomas-betts-cable-ties), and we supply this red 340 mm heavy duty version in packs of 500. It bundles runs from 6 to 102 mm in diameter and marks them in a signal colour at the same time.

Choose this tie when a bundle is heavy or under tension and also needs to be identifiable. The red colour is not UV-stabilised, so use it in buildings, halls and machines.

### Why is the TY27M-2 so much stronger than a 4.8 mm tie?

Tensile strength depends mainly on strap width. Going from 4.8 to 6.9 mm raises it from 222 N to 534 N, while length determines how thick the bundle can be.

### What is the smallest bundle I can secure with it?

The minimum bundle diameter is 6 mm. For very thin cables, a narrower tie is more practical.

### Is this size available in smaller packs?

In black and natural, the TY527MXR and TY527MR come in smaller packs. We supply the red TY27M-2 in packs of 500.
