To start, apply the stainless steel cable tie where it should be. Then pull the tyrap by hand as far as possible. Then you place the end of the cable tie in the pliers (the video shows how to do this exactly) and you start tightening the cable tie by squeezing the handle a little bit and releasing it. When the cable tie is tight enough, squeeze the handle all the way and the cable tie is cut.

Due to the smooth surface and the flat stainless steel material, tyrap plyers for nylon cable ties are not suitable.
