## How do you fasten a cable tie?

The closure works on the ratchet principle: the toothed end slides through the head and clicks tight tooth by tooth, without running back. ### Are these cable ties suitable for heavy bundles?

Yes, the greater width provides a high tensile strength. For the very heaviest applications there are special heavy-duty cable ties.

### What else are cable ties used for besides cabling?

Besides cables, they are used to bundle hoses, pipes and nets and to temporarily attach material to fencing, racks or structures.

### Can I tighten the cable tie by hand or do I need a tool?

Both work. By hand you simply pull the tie firm; with a cable tie plier you tighten it to a set, even tension and cut the end off flush in the same action.
